7. The sea inhabitants
Lives an octopus, you see.
It will hunt with all eight legs,
And will be the winner.
There, out of the dark,
Can arise a hungry shark.
But its tummy will be full,
After its dinner.
Hey, hey, hey, hey!
Tummy’s full – and shark can play, –
Hey, hey, hey, hey! –
Right after dinner.
In the ocean – lives a whale,
Gentle creature, head to tail.
It’s enormous, and it looks
Like a house, swimming.
There lives a starfish too.
There’s little it can do,
But it’s pretty like a true
Star in the evening.
Hey, hey, hey, hey!
Pretty starfish like to play –
Hey, hey, hey, hey! –
Stars in the evening.
In the shallow ocean bay
Slow turtle swims all day.
Many dolphins will pass by,
And they aren’t that slow.
In the ocean, in the sea –
Lots and lots of fish you’ll see,
Mouths opening as if
Saying “Hello!”
Hey, hey, hey, hey!
Fish, like children, like to play, –
Hey, hey, hey, hey! –
Saying hello.
