Miles away
“Yes, sure… I remember. Is something wrong with your papers?” Jack asked in a troubled voice.
“No. There definitely is not. I mean… I hope everything is OK with them.”
“So… what’s bothering you? You look upset.”
“The internship coordinator contacted me this morning. They said they approved my application.”
“Wow, that’s great! This is good news, isn’t it?”
“Yep, but… Oh, it’s hard to explain…” she mentioned and started to pace back and forth around the living room.
He stopped her by touching her hand: “What’s the matter, sweetie? You wanted this position and you’ve got it now.”
“When I applied, I didn’t know exactly what city they would probably send me to… They’re sending me to another city, Jack…”
“Another city? How far?”
“Far. Miles away.”
“No problem.”
“What? How could you say that? Won’t you miss me?”
A Smile slowly appeared on his face.
“No, I won’t,” he noted and then added. “I’ll come with you.” He saw a light but remarkable surprise in her eyes, then a sparkling joy when she jumped up in excitement.
