Unrest
You sleep and in your sleep
You dream of mountains steep
Untouched by mud
Your feet grow wet,
It's the onset
Of flood
The peaks are high,
The waters nigh,
And you are in between
You want to run
But you are stunned,
Uncertain and unclean
The terror builds,
The soil yields
In rustling cascades
You wake up shivering with sobs,
The river slows down and stops,
The image fades
Here comes the noise,
Rumble of earth,
Hissing of ether,
Calm of stir,
The talks of weather,
Routes and rites
To shut your mind off from the night,
Regain your poise
But as the day
Withers away
And burns down in the west,
Chill fills the air -
Chill from out there
Unrest
So here dims the light...
The sun's now but a dying spark,
The river glimmers in the dark,
Is shattered back to motion,
It starts to flow,
It starts to grow,
Becomes an ocean
A liquid darkness lies in wait,
Its hidden tides accumulate
And get in phase,
Waves start to roll,
They grow tall
And gain pace
You cannot move, you cannot breathe
Afraid of what lies underneath,
Of what has come for you
You wish you could break free and fly,
To those sacred peaks on high,
But your time's through
So here ends the fight
You sleep and in your sleep
You're sinking deep
