The best of animals, it's true!
Associated with this land
We'll always love without end
You are the symbol of the dream!

When to Australia they came
Asked aboriginals what name
They use for pouched creatures there
Which live in Aussie everywhere.
The British heard then: "Kan-ga-roo",
Believing that this name was true,
Without knowing what mistake
They did that time: the name was fake:
From aboriginals they heard:
"We did not understand a word"
But "kangaroo" is still in use
Since then... Nobody dares abuse
This living symbol of this land
The country and its continent
Which are the best ones in the world
Its beauty's never getting old
Its people, happy, lovely, nice
Its nature looks like paradise.
Australia! Now we're all in love
With you! But we can't get enough
Enjoying miracles you give
Fantastic animals which live
In this blessed country. Let it thrive!
