Love. Reframed

When darkness falls upon the soul
And desperation takes its toll
Surrender not. Do you feel rage?
There’s something else one can engage

We call it ‘love’. Yes, good old vibe
It’s known well to human tribe
You love thy children or a mate
In many ways it seals your fate

It spreads by touch, by look or word
Ones’ spirit takes off like a bird
It twines the lace of life, you know
Love pulls us through, beats any foe

Keeps us together, one and all
Entire nation. As roll call
Wakes us, to measure what we got
What’s worth defending and what’s not

Love nurtures when all wells run dry
It is the force you can’t deny
With healing powers, as the bruise
Of recent loss submerse to blues

Give love and get one in return.
It’s what we live for, what we yearn
Love lends us solace, and when war
Is done, awaits at homes’ door

Tell your entire brood and friends
You love them. Love that never ends
They are your strength and cause the glow
Make waves. And see them go, go, go

Now, words are faster than the touch
Yet they can bind just as much
Love keeps us human. That you knew
Hey, tuck-in children, silly you
