When I am playing Wagner
(And I played all his operas)
At his claviers suddenly
I want to rise, stand up
And to play further - standing!
This is such a great power,
Which lifts me up, exciting
To embrace the whole world!
And with a new enthusiasm,
Like no one else in music -
Wagner's compound polyphony
Of operatic voice
I sing with all my soul,
And with a renewed body,
In my chest I breathe deeply,
wheel going upwards!
