pink flamink

in the misty time before dawn
we will leave the sleeping town
and we'll take the sacred road
to the lakes that plain surrounds
where the dusks of cherry colors
are so maddeningly graceful
here no one's an outsider

and you'll see it's not a folly
to not think about parting
to not shiver so alertly
and to not be bored at heart
to forget of retribution
to not play and shed the masks
we will find love and kindness

pink flamingo, the child of dusk
pink flamingo, had danced here once
maybe in the past life--i can't recall
think about good stuff--i will do it all!

one of those enchanted wanderers
only you can still recall
this past life's amazing dance
that you'll do before us all
look at you and look at me:
all our shadows have been lost
this is kingdom of the ghosts

and it's true,  not a folly
 to not think about parting
to not shiver so alertly
and to not be bored at heart
to forget of retribution
to not play and shed the masks
we have found love and kindness
