“The square is to be closed
and all the tickets are sold” –
that’s how the New Year’s come
and what I have been told.
Lights and the goat outside,
strong alcohol at the bar –
that was the fest to run,
which I’m now from too far.
The tree is to be decorated
only in thoughts, the rat
is not a symbol, but toy
of my one-eyed cat.
