You might see the Spirit's traces
in churches, yes. Nevertheless,
God dwells in unexpected places,
where life looks an utter mess.
He is in hospitals and prisons
and in despair of your night,
where pain is mingling with reasons
why happiness is out of sight.
A search for meaning is producing
some angst in settings so grim.
In those moments God's inducing
with a desire to know Him.
Ignoring all your blatant flouting
of God's existence in the past,
He opens in your a fountain
that for eternity would last.
