A Sea-Bound Sonnet...
Jules Verne
***
A wave of blue, a wave of red, a wave of life –
It’s rolling on the Ocean of Ever;
To other waves – a friend, a guide, a lover, wife…
A boundless, seafaring, an adventurous endeavor,
She rolls and storms, more often – rolls and smiles
Across the Universe, the oceans, the hearts;
A wave of music, musing – no wiles,
Of songs and sonnets, and sonatas, and of art,
A wave among the oceans of others,
And yet – she’s like no other wave beneath the stars,
Among the stars, above the stars, and maybe farther,
A wave who’s warm and cool, and near and far…
A wave who rolls and lives through any weather,
Who knows? Perhaps we’ll roll and splash together…
