- I wish I were not such a fool.
- Why?
- If I weren’t such a fool, I would always stick to this good rule.

- They wish their son studied Chinese.
- Why?
- If he studied Chinese, he wouldn’t waste so much time at this computer of his.

- He wishes she didn’t read so many horror books.
- Why?
- If she didn’t read so many horror books, she would sleep better and it wouldn’t tell so badly on her looks.

- I wish It weren’t raining so hard.
- Why?
- If it weren’t raining so hard, there wouldn’t be so much mud.

D) I wish (предшествующие)

- We wish we had invited Maud.
- Why?
- If we had invited Maud, we would have never been bored.

- She wishes she hadn’t eaten so much meat and  gravy.
- Why?
- If she hadn’t eaten so much meat and gravy she wouldn’t have felt so heavy.
-
- Mary wishes they had spent their last holidays in a desert, somewhere far.
- Why?
- Because then the men-folk wouldn’t have spent so much time in the bar.

- They will wish they had learned Geography every day.
- Why?
- If they had studied Geography every day, they wouldn’t have lost their way.

-  They wish they had had breakfast at eight.
-  Why?
-  If they had had breakfast at eight, they wouldn’t have been late.
