Open your eyes!

Though science was never higher,
with discoveries so vast.
Yet, the human heart is still crying,
with its miseries in contrast.

Who can claim to be a hero
or to be, as a sage, wise?
Our knowledge is roughly zero,
if we our souls scrutinize.

If we open eyes to Creation,
if we open them to the cross,
then we’ll notice that all population
on the planet is at a loss.

For we can’t, like God, have power
to create the Earth and the sky
and the fruit of our deeds are sour,
though we succeed to get by.

When we die, then we die, unable
to revive our bodies, like Christ,
He alone on Death turned tables,
when for us His life sacrificed.

If we look in our souls closely,
what He sees? Strife and envy's puss,
cruel thinking, conceit and cowardice,
a rebellious spirit in us.

We're struggling, moaning, grumbling,
predisposed to abuse and fight,
but the Lord is refreshing and humbling,
He is setting perspectives right.

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.  I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come."
