     Название города переводится как "цветущий". И это истинная правда! Такого количества живых насаждений, цветочных клумб, умопомрачительных флористических композиций нет ни в одном другом городе. Природная красота обильно сдабривается красотой архитектурной, ухоженностью, величием и подается гостям, отчего эмоции и впечатления о флорентийском отдыхе остаются в памяти на долгие годы, и хочется снова навестить старую добрую Флоренцию, чтобы окунуться в ее невероятные красоты. 
     В пригороде Флоренции находится могила так хорошо известного нам Галилео Галилея. Примечателен тот факт, что на надгробии изображены спутники Плутона, но не главное открытие гения – солнечная система. Такое указание было дано Папой Римским. В день смерти Галилео родился Исаак Ньютон.
     Федор Михайлович Достоевский своего знаменитого "Идиота" начинал писать в Женеве, а заканчивал уже во Флоренции, где жил целых два года.
