Walking on Water
And the Savior walked on the sea.
Andrew was pulling roach for two pennies each
And the Savior men to set free.
And the fisherman cried, "I will be by your side
If you tell me how you make it work,"
And the Savior said, "Andrew, not that I had
A particular method or quirk;
See the cross at the top of the Calvary hill,
Ten squadsmen camping beneath. Take your time on it, man!
When you feel you're done, don't ask for refill,
Come walk on the sea together with me,
Come here with me again."
"Helmet horns terrify me. High over the plain
There's a raven - it's circling for prey.
Pity, Rabbi, my foolishness, come and explain,
Keep the cross for a rainier day."
In a moment angry, the Savior stepped
with might on the ripple and foam,
"You are foolish indeed," and the fisherman wept
while dragging his little catch home.
