Forgets the floor beneath their feet,

I seek your face, the dawn is fashionably fleet…

A whirl of dresses in the ballroom,

A world of candles burning bright –

Deprived of you, I have no calling,

A thousand dawns, though lustrous, golden,

Are not your eyes – their spark, their light…
