в пыли фонтана лев издаст прощальный дикий рык,
последний из орлов уснёт в развалинах горы -
и вот тогда в тени лесов, уставших от тревог,
увидишь ты, не веря сам, что жив единорог.

когда дыхание зимы цветы заледенит,
и бледная луна взойдёт над севером в зенит,
покажется, что нет надежд на счастье и успех,
услышишь ты сквозь горький плач единорога смех.

я жив, я жив

когда последняя звезда растает на заре,
и предвещает новый день отчаянье и бред,
то посмотри за тучи ввысь сквозь слёзы на глазах:
единорог последний жив, он блещет в небесах!

And the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain
In the shadow of the forest though she may be old and worn
They will stare unbelieving at the last unicorn

When the first breath of winter through the flowers is icing
