To my friends from Napoli and Sicily

To my new friends met in Cefalu with the whole warmth of my heart

I promised myself not to open my heart to strangers
So long ago I do not even remember when.
But somebody told me we all have to change with changes
And live every moment of life - be it now or then.

I never expected to find such big hearts full of kindness
That it will be painful to stay near all this warmth.
And now as we have to part, there's a hole inside me
With my heart transformed into something I've never known.

And I want to thank you, my new friends and no more strangers,
For showing how joyful and free life sometimes can be,
For sharing your souls and creating the precious moments
That make all the memories I'm going to take with me.

Sometimes all the borders and barriers lose the power
and we speak the language that everyone understands.
And if the time comes when it's dark around me,
my path will be lightened with warm hearts of my dear friends.

And I want to thank you for sharing the way of living
When you can do nothing but try to enjoy your days,
And when you're inspired, you don't need to hide your feelings,
Then if your emotions are gone, they'll come back again.

So thank you and let all your hearts be inspired and lively,
And may all your roads lead you smoothly the way you need.
They say our Earth is round, who knows, if one day
Our ways cross again and we suddenly gladly meet.
