Science claims that love is a straightforward act
Of genes and biochemical reactions.
What puzzles me - all theories intact -
The curious enigma of attraction.
It brings together birds to build a nest,
(In hope for pleasures and that genes passing?)
Do humans have such basic interests,
Or something rather grander and surpassing?
I want to be with you because of genes?
Of chemistry? Of the unlikely offspring?
In our union, do the instincts win
Because of some molecules in the nostrils?
In search for mechanisms, science lost its truthful path...
To be complete - that's why I need your love!
