We start approaching death so well before
We notice any sign of degradation;
Our dying is prolonged - therefore,
We can prepare quite well for the occasion.
First learn to overcome the fear of death,
Then learn to face the loss of skills and function,
Old age is worse than the revealing end,
And many long for a hastened departure.
Technologies may help to comprehend
Illusions of extended youthful years,
Mid-forties are deceived by the trend
Which promises that youth again appears.
Yet, none escaped the prescribed path;
Some few decades for humans are enough.
