We grow up to face the world of strangers
Conventions dominate our daily life;
Some may protest - just to face the vengeance,
While others quickly learn how to survive.
I still remember, in the early years,
My wish to understand the outer world:
How does it function, what and why it bears,
What is my place, and why have I been brought?
So many things we have on us imposed
That make no sense and have no proper use;
We learn in pain how to remain composed
And move through disappointments and abuse.
And then, as we have learnt to stay in line,
We start to age and slowly decline.
