Is a tragedy still possible to write
In the confusing age of shallow wonders?
When public looks for laughter and delight
And publishers seek poems on footballers?
Does real tragedy continue to exist
When death is either nuisance or statistics?
When talents drift to novelties and twists
And money comes with thicker belletristics?
There may be no updated version of Macbeth,
And Hamlet would end up in a happy marriage ---
Those deaths would be so easy to prevent
In modern world; no-one would need to perish.
Under the flood of gossips, news, and lies,
The only tragedy is our wasted lives.
