Through years, our lasting bond
Amazes me at every moment:
Whatever people do or don't,
I treasure only my beloved.
And neither aging nor discord
Can shutter our connection.
In daily living, the reward
Is our trustful, gentle affection.
I couldn't dream, in lonesome past,
Of ever finding love and friendship,
Of a companionship that lasts,
Despite inevitable hardship.
As one of the amazing wonders,
Love has the power beyond us.
