The pleasantness of Haydn can't be disputed,
He is a giant of that refin'd epoch;
So full of light, melodically rooted,
He's one of finest masters of baroque.
But I would struggle to memorise his pieces,
Despite his talent and produced track:
There is that something that his music misses ---
Originality? Uniqueness? Higher spark?
How important is to live with thunders:
To have own voice and a matching vital force.
Nowadays, those are replac'd by scandals,
Instead of brightness - splashes of compost.
To have a talent is a rare gift;
To have it bright is a dream to be achiev'd.
