Ever wondered why...

Ever wonder why a melody that you've been listening to for years, affects you differently, at different stages of your Life...?


I heard this tune when I was little,
and then again when I was bigger
It traveled with me many times
until, I learned by heart, all rhymes

It never made me feel unhappy,
nor did it make me feel real happy
It was a tune I knew by heart,
and sang to it when it would start

As years went by, the tune grew older,
and often still, over my shoulder
When I began to realize,
it's not the same, to my surprise

The words that came to mind so often
and melody that soothed and softened
Began to move me quite deep,
sometimes I just wanted to weep

Realization came on quickly,
why words and tune can be so prickly
Move soul and heart a different way,
much deeper, than -"back in the day"

The song and I have been evolving,
throughout Life and problem solving
We've been through hardships and through bliss,
...it's touching, when we reminisce...
