...Yuri decided to move with his entire family to St. Petersburg from Arkhangelsk in the late 90's. He devoted his life to music and from the 1970s he participated in various projects. He recommended himself as a partner of the outstanding avant-garde saxophonist Vladimir Rezitsky (... Vladimir Rezitsky created the jazz group "Arkhangelsk" in 1970 (outside his native city - in the Leningrad jazz club "Square" - it first appeared in 1972, and On the all-Union stage "Arkhangelsk" appeared in 1973 at the Donetsk Jazz Festival.) Its original members included pianist Vladimir Turov, guitarist Vladimir Monastyrev, bass player Sergei Shchukin, drummer Oleg Yudanov and Rezitsky himself (alto saxophone, flute). Further Monastyryova as a guitarist consistently replaced Yuri Silkin and Fedor Bagretsov, Nikolai Klishin played the double bass (since the 80s), and Nikolai Yudanov joined his brother Oleg as a percussionist.
