The Manifesto of Contemporary Romantics
Old castles and cathedrals are surrounded
By greyish colors, everyday routine,
And primitive designs replacing wonders.
Romantic stories, poems, fairy tales
And operas today are called old-fashioned
By those who realm of glorious Beauty failed
And chose blind dullness as their main profession.
Let them be bored, my friend. But you are not!
And we believe you don’t agree with cynics.
So hold up Beauty’s flag no matter what,
And never heed before fake judges’ screaming!
While our hearts still beat, it’s not too late!
We do believe that not in vain we’re fighting
So let us make true Art, and contemplate,
For Beauty is victorious and mighty!
He’s truly happy who devotes his life,
His soul and spirit to the Muses’ choir.
So let the paintings, cities and swift rhymes
Of days of yore unite us and inspire us.
The Harmony’s immortal, great, sublime,
Blessed and created by our mother Nature.
So may dull grey routine be lost in time!
True Beauty stays – it’s never out of fashion.
