A Perfect Woman
She made exquisite meals for me and served them just to please.
She wore some finest gowns of silk with an impeccable taste
and danced around like la Sylphide with an unearthly grace.
A simple string of pearls around her neck looked like a richest jewellery.
Her neck was like an ivory curved with a love that never ceased to be.
Her fair complexion was radiant and never darkens with improper thoughts.
Emerald eyes were shiny and bathed in lazurite of thoughtful gaze of hers.
I was the happiest of men that ever trod the earth.
Her quiet devotion and gentleness never seized to astonish me.
I’ve never guessed what was in me that all her love was worth,
Was that a fortune’s strangest hit or was it destiny.
My poverty and ways of life were not for her at all.
I didn’t do well and I don’t do now, it couldn’t really last.
I was in jail, she didn’t wait ‘til I'd be released on parole.
She just moved on and as for the rest,- the rest is covered with dust.
