Being Ill
While his Dad gives him a massage his Mum tries to find the syringe Uncle Ted gave them after his horse King Kong had died (the usual treatment can’t be always successful, you know).
Unfortunately, the notorious syringe is nowhere to be found and his Mum has to call Aunt Rose whose nickname is Overdose. She used to work in lunatic asylum a couple of years ago and then had to quit for some unknown reasons, which are of no importance, of course. Rose Overdose has her own set of syringes and clysters (she prefers only king-size) and is dead sure she knows how to handle such cases. Well, now it’ll be Alex’s turn to learn it in practice.
Ten minutes before Aunt Rose’s arrival Alex suddenly remembers that his chemistry teacher Miss Mess asked him to prepare a science report for today. He can’t recollect its title though, but it’s O.K. Even on the brink of death Alex can’t let his teacher and his classmates down. Attaboy! One for all and all for one, as the proverb goes.
Luckily Rose Overdose is late, she must be attending her old patient’s funeral. If the boy gets out of the window, perhaps they won’t meet on the landing.
All is well that ends well.
