Silence of the dead

It's so intangible to hear
The silence of the dead
Their voices seem to disappear
And writings stay unread

Whatever they would try to give
Will never be obtained
And nothing ever will relieve
Their sorrow that's engrained

These silent shadows slowly drift
Wherever they intend
And all they ever do is shift
Too loose to understand

As time goes on, there will be more
Of people that you knew
That went away behind that door
We all await in queue

And there'll be time that you yourself
Will join the silent shades
Where there's no use for any wealth
And darkness plays charades

Besides the scene that feels so real
With all we ever had
Sometimes it's effortless to feel
The silence of the dead

But what a mystery it is
To see what they have shown
It holds a meaning that we miss
Which still remains unknown

Quite well, but very similar to Campbell`s "A Thought suggested by the New Year", especially that of yours:
"As time goes on, there will be more
Of people that you knew
That went away behind that door
We all await in queue"
and "Up-Hill" by Christina Rossetti.
Is english your native language, for your verses seems not strange in row of typically english ones?

No, it's not my native, just well-known.
