chasing illusions

I am chasing illusions
And my fears eat me up inside.
What a common confusion
Is this messed up and silly life?
I've been chasing my demons
In the city of absent dreams.
Late at night it was desperately freezing
As in 9th of the Dante's rings.
I'm a weak devastated creature
Of the blind, deaf and silent world.
I ain't got no particular features,
Which might help me to move forward.
And the sun still will always shine.
Though it can't light the night as bright.
So am I in somebody's arms
So undoubtedly be a night.

Thanks for the pleasure of reading a rhymed poem in English. It's hard to find contemporary poets who are not ashamed to use rhyme and rhythm nowadays. I've never understood why: as if rhyme made Shakespeare or Donne worse..) I hope to see more.
