A DROP OF LOVE
 

I prayed to God for so long
I asked him to give me just a drop of love
I dreamt about it for so many years
Without it I was suffering, I was in pain
He heard my prayers, and said to me:
I know you cannot live without it
I know you’ve been aching for years
That’s why this covenant is now yours
I’ll give you not a drop, but the whole sea
Maybe even an ocean of it
Of mutual love, loyal and just
Of love to the man I sent to you
Two years ago, in 2012.
Drops of love are for those
Who don’t know how to love one another
So that they can have a taste
And remember it for the rest of their days.
Keep that in mind, and take a good care
Of the love I’m giving into your hands.


I know you need the whole ocean
Because you are filled with love
There is no void anymore,
And you probably know
Who will be given your love.
You are a faithful wife and a good mother
When you give your word, you keep it
I told you all that I wanted
And now it’s your turn to speak
I have to rush to someone
To the one that wants to live
Happily for the rest of their life.
With faith, hope and love
One can earn happiness from God
I don’t dole it in vain. Firstly,
I give them a gift of love.
But for centuries the statistics
Have been guarding a ruthless secret.
They feel love only for three years.
They rarely are thankful for it
More often they don’t thank me at all.


Yes, I understand all of it
And I don’t have any questions.
My God, I want to promise you something
Thank you for your wisdom and bounty
For your care, for everything.
Because of what you gave me so generously
I radiate with iridescent glow
I burn with fervent, passionate love
I’ve travelled through so many countries
Fate was not always gracious for me
I asked God for just a drop of love
And what I got is an ocean, great and deep.
