Why was I born so much off proper time,
So off the time when I could still be needed?
When many people valued divine
And used to be more arduous, less greedy?
The modern rotten powers decline -
They grow bigger, messier, and evil:
For every little person they define
How would their life be plann'd, set up and driven.
Mirage of freedom still misleads our age,
While state controls, and dangers keep us tighter;
We are enslaved at the current stage,
And future doesn't appear any brighter.
The quicker and more stressful life becomes,
The less I feel adaptable to those.
