В среду утром, в шестом часу, на восходе дня,
тихо прикрыв тёплой спальни дверь,
оставив письмо среди милых потерь,
вот она спускается в кухню – влажный в руке платок.
Вот повернула в замке свой ключ –
ветер свободы колюч…

Дочь (Как мы дрожали над ней!)
покидает (Дико дрожали над ней)
дом (Мы покупали ей всё, что могли).
Бросила дом и родителей в нём
после стольких лет…

Папа спит, а жена надела уже халат.
С полу письмо подняла она,
стала читать и очнулась от сна,
повернулась к мужу, кричит: «Проснись, наша дочь ушла!
Бросила нас так бессмысленно!
И наказала меня!»

Дочь (Мы забывали себя)

после стольких лет…

Утром в пятницу ждёт она на шоссе чужом:
встреча назначена, должен  прийти
к ней автослесарь лет двадцати…

Дочь (Было ли что-то не так?)
теперь (Что же там было не так?)
счастлива (Счастья не купишь – негодный сюжет),
радости ей не хватало в душе
после стольких лет… 

Вот и ушла. Прощай…
