Today, our first conversation – after a long break
After the fatal disease you experienced
I know you missed me, but you couldn’t speak
And you only nodded your head in silence.
I prayed to God for you, patiently waiting
For you to regain your strength, for our meeting
On August twenty-nine
Dreaming of you all the time.
We fought together, days passed by
We fought against the illness
That was hanging above you
Like a grim bat.
Our first, long-awaited conversation
It awakened an immense joy in me
No-one else, only you
Could give me your torn soul as a gift.
