Если б я был пауком и моя мать была бы луной,
Солнце б сожгло ее кокон, висящий тогда надо мной
Мало б я жил, слишком рано погиб под водой.
Если б я был пауком
и мама была бы луной.

Я оказался в реке, соскользнула из лап моих нить.
Будучи там только миг, я подумал, что век буду плыть.
Мама скорбит обо мне:
«Ты слишком рано ушел в мир иной».
Если б я был пауком и моя мать была бы луной.

Лишь под водой обретён теперь мною покой.
Грезя о лучшем, запутался я в паутине.
Мать напевает элегию,  стоя над холмиком синим.
Если б я был пауком и моя мать была бы луной.
