I saw the light fade from the sky
On the wind I heard a sigh
As the snowflakes cover
My fallen brothers
I will say this last goodbye

Night is now falling
So ends this day
The road is now calling
And I must away
Over hill and under tree
Through lands where never light has shone
By silver streams that run down to the sea

I turn at last to paths that lead home

And though where the road then takes me,

Я видел, свет мерк в небесах,
Слышал, стон кружил в ветрах.
Снег укрыл в объятьях
Моих павших братьев,
И "прощай" сказать пора.

День умирает,
Ночь впереди.
Дорога взывает,
И я должен идти
За холмы, через леса,
Туда, солнца тает луч,
По рекам, что к морям унесут.
Над землёю, под звездой,
Зимней вьюжною порой
Я наконец найду путь домой.

О том, куда тропы лягут,
Не знаю сам.
Путь пройден, и вот
Вновь солнце встаёт,
Удачи всем вам!

В многих странах я бывал,
Много бед я повидал,
Но жалеть не буду,
Как и не забуду
Тех, кто путь мой разделял.

День угасает,
Ночь впереди.

И я должен идти

С тяжкой памяти сумой,
С добрым словом за спиной
