I spent five years making name -
There was a hunger for a fame.
I wanted all to know I caught
A master-mind of heinous world.
I chased the felon far and wide
Amazed at large scope of his crime,
Each time I had him in my grip,
It wasn't firm, so he would slip.
As years went by I learnt a lot
About man I wanted caught.
Perhaps, I studied him too hard,
Forgot about having heart.
And trying sleep alone in bed, -
I paid a dear price for that, -
I'm torn apart by doubts in head.
So was I wrong to place the bet?
I spent five years making name,
And where it got me? What a shame!
I gave all things for it in vain,
So one'd be right to say - 'Endgame'.
I spent five years...
