The fortress of solitude

Alone, once again, I recover my face
In the fortress of solitude lies it.
Behind me I shall leave no reminder, no trace
For behind its closed doors lies my outfit.
Close enough to a shadow, yet not quite a shade
I run through the forests of winter.
Like a rumour, a murmur I vanish and fade
And I stick into you like a splinter.
You are mad, you are rage, you are fear incarnate
And you tear about like you're torn
And your hunger, an ocean that you cannot sate
From your fear and faith now is born.
Yet you thrive in this madness and smile with your eyes
For you truly are one with me now
And together, we enter the fortress to rise
And you pick me out so that I bow.
And together, again, we can take off my face
In the fortress it shall gather dust.
We shall leave it behind, and forever shall dance
We embraced and the world became just.
