The Sunrise Sonnet

The moon was swooning slowly below,
The sun was rising, bathing the horizon,
I ran beside a girl of worldly glows, -
A bit magnetic, once you lay your eyes on…

We spoke of love, philosophy and goals,
Of meteors, translations, shooting stars,
My heart was beating fast, at paces slow,
My dreams were racing wide, and high, and far.

All bets are off, all bets are on, “all in” – the motto,
Perhaps she is the muse of many walks,
But she’s amazing, and amusing – “very utterly,”
This muse of sonnets, languages and worlds.

Could be she won me over, that Muse –
But in a language race, she’s set to lose…
