Haven
An exile, I’ve driven myself to transform
Into the abyss to become my own god.
My safe little haven where nothing is flawed
I dream of your trees and your flowers and tunes
I dream of the scary but beautiful moons
Which shine in the darkness; give shade in the light.
I dream of the dark land where everything’s white.
My haven, my haven, I reach out for thee
If you do not open I’ll never be free
You shine with the light of a million suns
A mother you are to your troublesome sons
Oh brother, oh brother where art thou again?
I cannot imagine, I can’t comprehend
Why you would desert it, the everlong dream
Of finding safe haven, where you won’t be seen.
My haven, my haven, your door is ajar,
But I do not dare to venture so far
I cannot go forth while my brother does not
He needs to be saved from what he has begot
My haven, my haven will you wait for me
I cannot afford to bring evil to thee
Oh haven, oh haven you should understand
That blood has been spilt on the innocent sand.
Oh king of the sands in the land of the kings
You are one to know how the pendulum swings
Oh wise king, oh great king, I beg for my life
Your carnifex grinds his ethereal knife
Oh king of the wise and the ruler of pride
My freedom has cost me; my brother has died
The door of my haven won't open for me
How dare you question my right to be free
Oh haven, oh haven, I’ll come to you now
You don’t have to open; I’m hither for thou
To learn of my sorrow and weep when I die
But know I am happy; together we lie
Though you are in heaven and I am in hell,
I still feel you presence, but I cannot tell
If you want to mock me, or offer me peace
It matters now not, I have found my release.
