An old woman Baybarikan with five cows

Аn old woman Baybarikan with five cows
One summer morning went for her cows.
She  saw the horse-tail lichen  in the meadow
Horsetail-grass with five sprouts .
                She brought  it home,
She  put it under the  blanket,
She put it on the pillow.
The grass was on the pillow.
Аn old woman Baybarikan went to milk the cows.
She heard the ring of the bells,
She heard the sound of the scissors,
She knocked over the milk-pail.
                She  hurried into the tent,
She ran and looked and saw.
Everything was in its place .
The grass was on the pillow.
Аn old woman Baybarikan again came  to her cows,
She took up the milk-pail again,
She heard the sound of the scissors,
She knocked over the milk-pail.
                She rushed into the tent,
She opened the door and saw.
.      The girl of the unprecedented beauty,
The girl was sitting on the bed:
Her face was white as the light stone;
Her eyes with sparkles like a gemstone;
Her lips were like a red-hot iron;
Her  eyebrows like two black sables;
                The body shined through the clothers;
                the  bones were seen through the body;
                the marrow  can be seen through the bones;
The grass turned in a beautiful girl.
One day a young hunter went hunting in the taiga.
His name Khardit Bergen means marksman
He saw a gray squirrel, took aim at him,
Marksman fired but missed the target.
He shot a squirrel, never got in the morning.
His  arrow flew past and fell down the chimney,
down the chimney of the old woman Baybarikan.
-“BaybariKan,  put out the arrow”- shouted Khardit Bergen.
No, his arrow was not found, no one answered.
Hunter shouted again and again,
nobody heard him or respond.
Khardit Bergen was out of himself with rage,
his blood boiled from his fury,
and began to seethe in his forehead,
                his fierce thoughts went sideways,
                his boastful thoughts went behind.
Khardit Bergen flew to the tent
and saw a fainted girl, coming to himself, jumped out,
Saddled his horse and rode home. He cried from the threshold
-“The little old woman with five cows has such a beautiful daughter:
                her face was white as the light stone;
                her eyes with sparkles like a gemstone;
                her lips were like a red-hot iron;
her  eyebrows  like two black sables.
My father, my mother! Take this girl, give her to me to wife!”
Then the father sent the nine riders and they rode to the old women.
They went into the tent, saw the girl and her beauty blinded all the rest.
And when they woke up, the best of the men asked.- Baybarikan,
give your daughter a son of praiseworthy  Khara Kharn toyon  to wife!
-Why not give,-said the old woman.- I will!
Was asked the girl, will she go to wife
The girl said :- Yes I agree, will go to wife.
-Then fill my clean field  with all sorts of cattle.
And once that is done, can take the girl.
In a moment brought to the field of the old woman
so many cows and horses, and the field itself cannot be seen.
They led a horse that was speckled
and put on it the silver bridle,
                saddled  a silver saddle,
and the silver lash hang to saddle.
The girl was decorated and dressed.
Bridegroom  put her on the horse, that understood human speech.
Khardit Bergen rode with the bride  home and he said:
“In a dark wood the crossbow for the foxes, I’m going  there.
You go straight until you see the road twin
to the East, where is hanging a sable skin,
and to the West, where the hanging bear skins.
Go to where sable is hanging skin.
The girl rode  to the specified location,
But there forgot and reached
the road, where hung a bearskin.
Drove up to the great iron tent.
Virgin Abarhy dressed  in an iron clothes,
with one twisted foot, with a single twisted hand,
with one on the middle of the forehead, muddy, cold  eye,
with long black tongue down on his chest.
She grabbed the girl, pulled from her  horse,
tore the skin from her face and put it on own face,
removed the whole beautiful dress,
got dressed and rode on horse to the East.
Nine fellows and eight girls were from the two sides
of the hitching post to take her horse.
But  she tied the horse to a broken  twig of willow,
where pied bull was tied, that upset greeters people.
Girls have prepared the thread to string
the falling ruby beads from the mouth of the bride,
Fellows with arrows were expecting
for running sables  from the feet of  bride.
But as she opened her mouth it showered with small green beads
and mangy weasels ran from under the feet.
Here are all the greeters were saddened, grieved,
green grass were laid front of the bride, wedding feast was started.
Аn old woman Baybarikan with five cows
One summer morning went for her cows.
She saw the Horsetail-grass with five sprouts,
that was more beautiful than first .
                She brought  it home,
She  put it under the  blanket ,
She put it on the pillow.
The grass was on the pillow.
Аn old woman Baybarikan went to milk the cows.
She heard the ring of the bells,
She heard the sound of the scissors,
She knocked over the milk-pail.
                She rushed into the tent,
She opened the door and saw,
The girl more beautiful than first,
The girl was sitting on the bed.
She said : “I rode with my husband and he said:
In a dark wood the crossbow for the foxes, I’m going  there.
You go straight until you see the road twin.
I forgot the instruction of my husband and drove up to an iron tent.
Virgin Abarhy, dressed  in  an iron clothes, сame out of the tent
with one twisted foot, with a single twisted hand,
with one on the middle of the forehead, muddy, cold  eye,
with long black tongue down on his chest.
She grabbed me, pulled from my horse,
tore the skin from my face and put it on own face,
removed the  dress, changed into my clothes
and  road the horse along the road.
Gray dog grabbed me by the teeth,
                gnawed and dragged my body
and threw it into a wide field.
Then I grew up again like horsetail-grass."
The  speckled horse understanding human language,
as soon as she realized, that her hostess was alive,
she found the gift of human speech
and complained to the father of Khardit Bergen:
                “Virgin Abarhy ruined my hostess
She grabbed her, pulled from me,
tore the skin from her face and put it on own face
removed the  dress, changed into her clothes.
Virgin Abarhy  lives now in your tent,
as your daughter-in-law. If you don’t
bring the virgin Aiyy from tent
of Baybarikan with five cows, I'll complain.
I'll tell  with the seat of the summit stone White Aiyy toyon
with the lakes from milk without foam,
That with  black and gold avalanches,
That with the gold slush, and with the silver waves,
Virgin Abarhy  will destroy your hearth
Won't give life,  will destroy you all.
Tie the Virgin Abarhy to the tail of a wild horse.
Will place  the son  within running water within thirty days.
Let the midges and insects will suck all the filth and muck out of the body.
Than  hang the son on a tall tree under the air for thirty days,
Let coming from the North and South air will blow
the liver and the heart, may be cleaned dirty body.
After cleansing, let him ask his wife to come."
After hearing a horse the old man rubbed the tears from both
eyes and headlong  came running in the tent.
"Son, do you know what kind of your wife?"- asked the old man
-“Seven daughters of uniting together kindhearted, collecting dense Gallic Gahagay  toyon,
the brother of White Aiyy toyon in the upper world, on top of the three heavens
came down and had fun in the middle world as seven storks.
From the upper world came to them raised them  Iayakhsit  Khotun.
She caught one of the best  seven storks:
“You must become the person your future,
to become the Sakha is your purpose in this middle world.
Not dislike that here the earth and midges.
You will marry Khardit Bergen-a son of  much-vaunted Khara Kharn,
will become a person, bear children and care for livestock.
She cut off the tip of the wings having said this.
When the girl began to cry,  she said,  to grow Horsetail-grass.
The old woman Baybarikan with five cows will find you,
Will adopt  and she will give you a wife for a son of Khara Kharn.”
- The  speckled horse, understanding human language, said me:
That “virgin Abarhy  lives now in your tent.
                Virgin Abarhy ruined my hostess
She grabbed her, pulled from me,
tore the skin from her face and put it on own face
removed the  dress, changed into her clothes.
The virgin  Abarhy will destroy you all.
Tie the virgin Abarhy to the tail of a wild horse.
Will place the  son  within running water within thirty days,
let the midges and insects will suck all the filth and muck out of the body.
Than hang the son on a tall tree under the air for thirty days,
let coming from the North and South air will blow
the liver and the heart, may be cleaned dirty body.
After cleansing, let him ask his wife to come.”
Hearing this the boy was too shy, scared.
Virgin Abarhy was tied  to the tail of a wild horse.
The horse trampled her and her body turned into different reptiles and insects.
The boy was placed  within running water within thirty days,
The midges and insects  sucked all the filth and muck out of the body.
Than the boy was hung on a tall tree under the air for thirty days,
Coming from the North and South air  blew
the liver and the heart,  cleaned dirty body.
After cleansing, Khardit Bergen go to  ask his wife to come.
He brought even more than before the dowry.
He flopped down on his knees and begged for mercy.
Baybarikan was delighted, as if he was after the loss, came alive after death.
She spread the green grass from the hitching post before the tent,
put of the white horse skin with legs and with a mane on a best bed.
“Why are you here, giving to the virgin  Abarhy to offend?”- the girl said
and began to cry, and the old woman pushing the tears from her eyes said:
“If you're alive after death, if you’re found after loss, why do you not rejoice?
And let none of you, my words will not disobey!
The girl finally said: “Yes.” The guy with joy hugged her and kissed her.
They had a good laugh, talked, and played.
They led speaking horse that was speckled
and put on it the silver bridle,
                saddled  a silver saddle,
and the silver lash hang to saddle.
The girl was decorated and dressed,
Bridegroom  put her on the horse and  they rode  home.
Nine fellows and eight girls were from the two sides
About hitching post two girls held the reins and took the bride in his arms and lowered to the ground.
Girls have prepared the thread to string the ruby beads

                Fellows with arrows were expecting
Sables for running from the feet of  bride.
Spoke the bride is showered with large ruby beads.
Girls began to collect them and strung on strands .
Sable began to run from under the feet of girls, fellows began to shoot sables.
