every morning we become a day older

every morning we become a day older than we were falling asleep

here it is, the age we haven't built plans for,
as such numbers seemed so scary to little us.
this is when you finally realise
that everything ends:
holidays, shelf lives, money, people.
especially people.
therefore hugging them each time
like there's no tomorrow
doesn't look like a soppy wont.
each of us has our own wants,
our oddities, our favourite songs,
our weak spots and beauty spots,
our memories we wanna either talk
about or whist about - it depends.
the sooner you accept yourself,
the easier it is to live,
but we usually aren't looking for easy ways.
