Black locust trees fragrant bunches of flowers
The streets were silent and houses too
Black locust trees’ fragrant bunches of flowers
Drove us mad with nice scent whole night through.
Garden was washed by the spring fresh clean showers
There was water in ravines around
Lord! How na;ve we were then like white flowers
How we were young, how sweet was the sound.
Years have rushed making greyer our hair
Where is the purity of branches white?
Only snow blizzard and winter this fair
Bring back the memory of that past night.
When down wind rushes like from high towers
I see again all the picture around,
Black locust trees’ fragrant bunches of flowers
We can’t return as our youth has its bound.
