I ll let you go

I’ll let you go, I’ll let you go a thousand times
To distant places, where deep water shines
I’ll let you go to towns and valleys full of sun
To men and women, and to tons of fun
I’ll let you go for days, or weeks, or years
Until the memory of you disappears
And I will neither cry nor be alone
I’ll try to change my lifestyle to the bone
I will not write you letters every day —
It just will seem like I behave your way
I’ll hide those memories while we’re apart
In secret pages of my growing heart
And if you asked me how I am, I’d rather lie
But someday you’ll be back, I’ll tell you why:
We have so many different things to do,
So many words to say, find something new,
So many thoughts to share and give away…
So I’ll just let you go again. (Please, stay…)
