Enchanted wood
Here, birds are alarmingly chirping
you live in an enchanted wild wood
escaping from which bears no hoping
let the birdcherries dry like linen, in a breeze
let the lilacs rain down their petals
anyhow, i will take you away from these grips
to a reeds-pipes-consumed shiny Palace
your world by wizards for a thousand years
is hidden from men and from light
and so you believe there's nothing that'd best
this charmed and mysterious bight
let the dew leave no traces on leaves in the morn
let the moon and grey skies do their fighting
anyhow, i will take you away from this lorn
to a chamber with seaview so delighting
what day of the week, and what time of the day
you'll come out to me, all so wary
when i in my hands will take you away
to where we can't be found, end of story!
i will steal you, if theft is what's to your taste
--have i wasted all these days in vain?
so agree, my dear, to a paradise in a tent
if the palace and chamber are taken..
