the ocean

Yesterday I was woken by the ghost
and I followed him to the ocean' coast;
and the morning sky was so low and gray;
and the salty waves took my soul away.

I've been taken then to the heart of storm
and I heard you laugh while the others mourn;
and I felt how you took me by the hand
leading me to dance on the soft wet sand;

and the water was raging 'round us,
but somehow I felt that I'm safe at last;
and somehow I felt: at the oceanbed
we can meet each other, alive or dead.

Then you spoke to me, and your voice was mild,
and you said that I have to stay alive;
and if I would happen to feel a pain
then I can just come to the shore again.

Now I stand alone under lucent skies;
and the water is as blue as your eyes.
In the howling wind, in the rattling waves
I can clearly hear sound of your name.
