Two Leaves

All leaves fell down;
Trees were completely naked.
Only two leaves stayed on a maple tree.

They had a conversation;
One of them
Said to the other:
– We'll fall down some day.

The second said:
– Yes, you are right, my friend.
So, let's not waste the time.
Do you remember sunny summer days?
The breeze that played with us in every evening?

The first leave answered:
– I remember that.
And I remember how we dreamed to fly;
Imagined we were birds;
We flew and sang;
All of these songs were dedicated to the land
Where we were born,
Where we grew up together…

But at this moment their talk was over –
There was the wind among the naked trees.
Two leaves won't have another conversation
Because the wind tore down both of 'em.
