64th Chorus

California evening is like Mexico
The windows get golden oranges
The tattered awnings flap
Like dresses of old Perdido
   Great Peruvian Princesses
In the form of Negro Whores
      Go parading down the sidewalk
      Wearing earrings, sweet perfume
          Old Weazel Warret

       tradesmen
         sick of selling
         out their stores stand in
               the evening lineup
               before identifying cops
               they cannot understand
               in the clouds of can
                and iron moosing
                marshly morse
                of over head
