On this perfect rainy day...

On this perfect rainy day
(Oh, how I've been yearning
For the moment, being away)
I make my quiet returning.

Breathing clouds and touching light,
Feeling drops to let them pour,
I'm coming back from out of sight,
And every step of mine is sore.

Is there still a house at the end of the way,
Waiting open for me at the end of the world?
There is always a light, so they say,
Glowing in a dark just for me, I was told.

So hand in hand with the shadows of the past,
Head to head with the wind, heart to heart with my pain,
I'm going back to the old tale I trust.
I'm coming back home, bringing soul, clay and dust,
I'm going to live one more time and again...

You can feel that longing, like coming home with all this mixed-up nostalgia and past ache…
The imagery’s so vivid – it really hits, making the return feel bittersweet yet somehow hopeful, like stepping back into something familiar but still raw.

P.S. Where'd you learn English, if you don’t mind me asking? :)

Thank you for your sensitive response, Sasha, it's really heartwarming. :)
I'm glad we're on the same wavelength here too...

As for your question...
I don't mind at all, you can ask me anything, really. :)
I've been learning English all my life, actually, but yet it's far from being perfect, to my shame. Nevertheless, sometimes I write in English (or Hebrew), and there are some English poems here as well (although they are not as good as the Russian ones, of course). By the way, I'll be grateful to you for any constructive criticism or advice as an author who lives in an authentic English-speaking environment (if and when you feel like giving me some feedback, of course).

And I live in Israel, here you can hardly survive without knowing English as well as Hebrew. :)
