A Kingdom for a horse
William Shakespeare, King Richard III
‘A Kingdom for a horse!’ – he cried.
‘My Kingdom for a horse!’
This was his testament, he died,
And no one bought his corpse.
‘A Kingdom for a horse!’ – he said,
‘My Kingdom for a horse!’
This barter by this man was mad,
Deprived of legal force.
He craved for Kingdom all his life,
He horses killed and men
And in the end of bloody strife
A horse? God say amen.
